Workforce Attraction and Retention Intern – Internal

Office location: Bedford, IN

Position works 35 hours/week.  Internship length – two months.  Salary: $1,800/month

The Workforce Attraction and Retention intern shall work with Radius staff and contractors to help support and administer programs that promote the in-migration of new working population members to the region, as well as assist with  programs that support the improvement of skills among existing residents in the Radius region.  The position will coordinate and communicate with Radius staff, with local economic development leaders, with local businesses and educational programs, and with state and federal programs.

The Workforce intern shall provide support services that help coordinate and assemble resources needed to increase the productive capacity of the Radius region population.  Good communication skills are required; written, in-person, and telephone communications will be critical to address the coordination of programs that typically may not work with one another, and/or be driven be widely divergent organizational cultures. Patience and creativity will be required to produce the maximum value from limited resources.  Additionally, the position shall be available as a resource for those communities in the Radius region that wish advice and information related to their own workforce resources.

The intern must be able to use Word, Excel, and other typical administrative tools found in an office setting.  Intern must have access to reliable transportation and be able to travel to communities and facilities located throughout the Radius eight county region.
